The City of Los Angeles recently passed Ordinance 183893, which requires the retrofit of pre-1978 wood-frame Soft-Story buildings and non-ductile concrete buildings. The goal of the mandatory retrofit programs, under the ordinance, is to reduce these structural deficiencies and improve the performance of these buildings during earthquakes. Without proper strengthening, these vulnerable buildings may be subjected to structural failure during and/or after an earthquake.

Customer Feedback

“My good impression began with the free inspection. I got a very detailed report, including a sketch of the entire pillar foundation of my house. Their estimate was on par with others I received, plus they identified a solution to fixing a bad cripple wall that I knew needed work. For the actual work, the team who came were great. They were professional, respectful, and easy to work with. They were excellent at coordinating their work, and their sizeable team, plus good at communicating what they were going to do, and how the progress was going. They even invited me to come under and take a look at their work, which I did. They also carefully cleaned up after the dusty job was complete.”

“Thank you for the good work you did on my house and for sending such a nice crew to do it. They were all friendly and courteous, and I could tell they were working hard and efficiently.

“I will be sure to recommend The Foundation Works to my homeowner friends.”

“Calling me to let me know that the price of my job had gone down after you started was unreal. Once again, you are in the .001 percent caliber of people – no other contractor on earth would have forwarded those savings on to me.”

T.D., Property Investor

“We love referring people to you guys.”

C.A., Hollywood

“Everyone of their employees from start to finish were very courteous and professional. The inspectors, Kent Romero and Keith Whallett were honest, forthright and took time to explain exactly what needed to be done. The owner, Tom Pelletier stayed involved to ensure all my issues were addressed.  Most impressive was the foreman, Eric Schuchman who completed the work ahead of schedule, respected my property and kept everything clean.  I enthusiastically recommend Foundation Works to everyone seeking to have earthquake retrofit done on their foundation and any corrective structural work on their foundation.”
